The GAVI Alliance is seeking an exceptional individual to fill the following position based in Geneva, Switzerland.

DEPUTY DIRECTOR, PROGRAMME FUNDING TEAM

In this capacity, you will be managing key strategic resource mobilisation projects and developing a best-practice donor portfolio management to secure higher levels of funding for GAVI from current and new donors. You will have the opportunity to structure and arrange new funding windows looking at ways to support new vaccine development.  You will advise and empower a team of 11 staff to build new public and private donor relationship and play a promotional role in generating new businesses. This will involve coordination with the Innovative Finance Team to manage marketing of new schemes to donor countries. You will also lead the development of a donor portfolio management framework ensuring effective instruments are in place to manage, forecast and track donor commitments.

Alongside an advanced degree in business administration, finance or other relevant fields, you should bring a solid track record in fund-raising with international, public and private sector sources and a hands-on experience in the management of major replenishment mechanisms in the international aid environment. You should have highly developed project management skills. You should demonstrate an ability to contribute to broad, high level strategic resource mobilisation dialogue in a creative environment and an ability to articulate policy issues, trade-offs and priorities to provide sound advice. You should be an innovative thinker who can represent the Alliance in donors ‘meetings and other fora. Finally you should be able to operate effectively in a multicultural environment and have at least 9 years of related work experience
